As entertainers and celebrities joined in advocates against the spread of the deadly corona virus in Nigeria, The Ibadan based Fuji veteran, Rasheed Ayinde Adekunle that is popularly known as Merenge King has not only release a track to sensitize people but also gone further by sharing fund to needy.
Rasheed Ayinde three weeks ago released a five minutes Fuji track where he advised the populace, especially his fans in the language they understand best which is Fuji music, and it’s presently tending on the social media.
The Fuji star in a private conversation with the writer revealed how negatively the pandemic had affected the entertaining business, with many booked parties and concerts was canceled without any compensation from any quarters.
“We thank God for our lives, most of our people still don’t believe that the virus exist here and that was why we need to enlighten that in the manner that they will understand better, hence brought about the track I released which is really trending among Fuji lovers”, he enthused.
While explaining further the negative effects of the lockdown directives by the Federal Government as a measure to curtail wide spread of the scourge on the downtrodden, he advised well meaning Nigerians to be their brother’s keepers by extending hands of help to the needy.
Saying “Lots of our people are really suffering during this period of lockdown, people bombarded my house and my mobile phone-line with demands and I have been doing little I could by sending token to some and providing foodstuffs to some in order to alleviate their suffering at this trying time”.
“Most people are looking up to government for support but in the right sense of the circumstances, there is little to what our government can do in this kind of situation, spirited individuals should use this period to show benevolence and reap bountiful rewards from Allah”, said fuji Merenge crooner.
