The family of late Kosenge Arijeniwa, former youth leader of Action Democratic Party (ADP) in ward 8, Ibadan South/West Local Government, have decried the delay in Police investigation of the manner their son was assassinated on 29th May, 2015 wondering what seems to be hindering the justice.
Alh. Akeem Arijeniwa who signed a petition forwarded to the Inspector General of Police on behalf of the family told newsmen in Ibadan that the family is yet to get-over the attack on their two sons which led to the death of one of their son (Kosenge Arijeniwa) who was gruesomely murdered by people suspected to be members of the dreaded ‘one million boys’ while his junior brother Femi Azeez Arijeniwa escaped with injury a week penultimate ADP’s 2015 ward primaries election.
“We implore the leadership of the Police Force to help us redress the unjustifiable attack on our sons by one million boys, where we lost Kosenge and his junior brother Femi Azeez Arijeniwa and his wife Aderonke Arijeniwa had run for their lives by leaving the country with injuries for fear of reprisal attack.
“Some arrest was made the Police from State CID Iyaganku, Ibadan but unfortunately we are yet to get justice for the past five years in this case, We don’t know that it was a sin for people to move from one party to another. Our children left Accord party to ADP and that was why thugs were sent after them”.
“We have vowed to see the case to a logical conclusion but the police have been foot-dragging on the investigation. We want the soul of our son to rest in peace by getting justice for his gruesome murderer hence necessitating writing of this ‘save our soul’ letter”, the statement reads.
The petitioner, Alh Arijeniwa also revealed that no assistant was rendered by any chieftains of the political parties to assist the immediate family of the deceased, especially the child he left behind and that was why his junior brother (Azeez) who was also pursuing ticket then had to leave the country for fear of his life
