Oyo Govt Tourism Team Visits Idere hills, Onigbaporo hills in Ibarapa land

The Oyo State Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism visited Idere hills and Ibarapa tourist sites yesterday to conduct audiovisual documentation in order to profile them on the ongoing digital website building of tourist and historical sites in Oyo State.

It will be recalled that management of Ibarapa Tourism Club had earlier been informed of the state government’s visitation to Ibarapa on Monday in a letter received by the initiator of Ibarapa Tourism Agenda, Olugbenga Sunday Omotayo notifying him of the decision to conduct audiovisual documentation of few of historical and tourist sites in Ibarapa among others in the state.

It was sheer alluring as the Ibarapa Tourism Club welcomed dignitaries from different ministries of the state to Ibarapa land to explore shortlisted sites in the region.

Speaking with Idere Update, Olugbenga Sunday Omotayo said: “Idere and by extension Ibarapa region received high profiled personalities with the mandate of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Eng. Seyi Makinde to explore Idere hills and few other tourist sites in Ibarapa land in order to profile them on the ongoing digital website building with audio-visual documentation of major tourist and historical sites in Oyo State”.

Idere Update gathered that places visited were the palace of the Onidere, Idere hills, the Onigbaporo hill, Eruwa and Igba Olofin hills, Lanlate.

In attendance were Mrs. M.A Agboola, the Oyo State Director of Tourism, Mr. Sangodare O.A, Deputy Director, Management of Information Centre to the Executive Governor, Mr. M.B Fagebo, Deputy Director of Oyo State Tourism, Barrister Femi Popoola, General Manager of New Era Broadcasting Services.

Also present were Alhaji Lukuman Abimbola, BCOS/Oyo State Government Broadcasting Corporation and Videographer, Mr. Faithfulness, Official Photographer, Oyo State Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Tosin Ayeni, Governor office photographer and computer analyst.

Other dignitaries with the government officials on this hill yesterday include President of Yoruba Tourism Club, Mr. Jide Fajuyi, CEO of Naija Explorer and ITA Ambassador, Mr. Bolaji Seun and President of Idere Descendants’ Vanguard, Dr. Eyitayo Olagbenro.
