His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al- Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates, and Ruler of Dubai under whose patronage the 16th edition, of the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference & Exhibition (DIHAD 2019) is being held in March in the United Arab Emirates,notes,:

DIHAD,the world’s leading humanitarian event is scheduled to take place from the 12th-14th March,2019 under the theme, ’Connecting UN Aid Agencies ,NGOs Private Sector and Governments to Build a Better Future for Humanitarian Aid and Deliver on Their Promise for s Better World”.
The three-day event which has since proven to be the ultimate regional event for the exchange of humanitarian ideas, values and practices, also seeks to transfer and share valuable knowledge through presentations, debates and dialogues as well as, to showcase new trends in operational support and supply services related to the humanitarian industry.

DIHAD is considered now the region’s sole humanitarian voice, a forum that addresses many issues facing the world today.
UAE Sets the Pace
The UAE’s world’s largest donor of official development aid , relative to its national income status, was acknowledged by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in a report.
“With a total contribution of Dh19.32 billion of developmental aid in 2017, the report noted, the UAE spent 1.31 per cent of its gross national income on foreign developmental aid — almost twice the global target of 0.7 per cent set by the United Nations.
“The donations made in 2017 represent a 23.72 per cent increase from the year prior, when the country contributed Dh15.57 billion. Almost 43 per cent of the UAE’s aid was distributed across Asia, making up Dh8.28bn; about 28 per cent (Dh5.4bn) was donated in Africa and 23 per cent in Europe (Dh4.44bn).
